31/05/2016 – Official signature of cooperation agreements at AHU
Two cooperation agreements have been signed during an official visit of the French Embassador in Jordan (His Excellency Mr. David Bertolotti) at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University to consolidate the partnership impulsed in the framework of the South Eastern Badia Archaeological Project (Mission Archéologique du Sud-Est Jordanien). These agreements, signed with the President of the university (Prof. Ali M. Qaisi) involve: 1. the support of the French Embassy (Service de Cooperation et d’Action Culturelle) to the project by providing a financial support to the training of students of the university during our fieldwork; 2. a scientific and academic cooperation between Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the University of Lyon 2 and its affiliated laboratory Archéorient (UMR 51 33).
These agreements formalize the cooperation in the framework of our French-Jordanian project, and open the way to future scientific and academic collaboration in various fields of the institutions involved in the two countries.
